The program’s featured segment, “Method to the Madness: NJ Roads Are Not Boring,” was nominated in the Public Affairs – Single Program category, recognizing the television series’ commitment to telling compelling stories about infrastructure and the skilled union workforce behind it.

The nomination was celebrated at the New York Emmy Awards ceremony held on October 10, 2026. While the program did not take home the award, earning a nomination alongside some of the region’s leading television productions represents a significant achievement for the series and its production team.

“Receiving our first New York Emmy nomination is an incredible honor and a testament to the hard work and creativity of everyone involved in producing Our Infrastructure Matters,” said Executive Producer Michael Makarski. “Our mission has always been to shine a spotlight on the skilled men and women who build, maintain and modernize the infrastructure we depend on every day. This recognition reinforces the importance of telling their stories.”

The nominated segment, “NJ Roads Are Not Boring,” takes viewers behind the scenes of New Jersey’s transportation infrastructure, highlighting the engineering, innovation and skilled labor required to build and maintain the state’s complex roadway network.

Through engaging storytelling and firsthand perspectives, the segment demonstrates that the roads millions of residents travel each day are anything but ordinary — representing the expertise, dedication and craftsmanship of the professionals responsible for keeping New Jersey moving.

“This nomination is particularly meaningful because infrastructure is something most people take for granted,” added ELEC825 Director Mark Longo. “The goal of the program is to bring these projects to life, showcase the extraordinary work happening across New Jersey and give viewers a greater appreciation for the union workforce that quietly makes it all possible.”

Presented by the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the New York Emmy Awards recognize excellence in television and digital media production throughout the region.

The historic nomination marks an exciting new chapter for Our Infrastructure Matters, reinforcing the program’s commitment to educating the public about infrastructure investment, workforce development and the vital contributions of organized labor.
