The Arcadian Encounter, debut novel by John A. Wester, tells the story of Professor Patricia Johnson, an archaeologist who triggers a hidden door inside a cave in Peru and finds an airlock built by a previously unknown civilization.

Wester’s own background runs through the machinery of the book as much as its mystery. He served seven and a half years in the U.S. Navy aboard two nuclear-powered submarines as a qualified Reactor Operator and Engineering Watch Supervisor, then spent thirty-three years at DTE Energy’s Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant in Newport, Michigan, before retiring in 2022.
A longtime reader of Tom Clancy and Larry Bond, Wester brings that same attention to strategy and shipboard detail to The Arcadian Encounter, most visibly in a prologue space battle that carries the tension of a submarine engagement.
